Spear hunting outlawed

Oh SNAP, I just got my tactifool spear al slicked up too.
Forward flashlight and lazer C-More attached and even had the blade 5 angled honed/ground using sapphire and diamond bladed sharpening implements spun counter clockwise to offset the Coriolis effect of the earths movement .
Yup, just got it last night delivered special delivery via Canada Post too.
It was a day late mind you, so off to CP for a refund on the delivery charges too.
Man, guess it goes up in the EE tonight after Dinner Break.
Tight Groups, err long chucks maybe.
Rob

EMT only? Or will you ship Canada Post COD?

A spear has massive "sectional density" any sharp spear will easily penetrate through an animal and kill it. Even a poor hit with a spear is probably more lethal than a similar hit with an arrow. Think of the leverage on the long handle and what that will do on the cutting end. grisly? Yes, but all killing with a projectile is. I see no reason to ban the spear simply because it makes a bigger cut than the other tools/weapons that we use. They'll be coming after our bows next.

I know a couple dozen who have hunted with spears, including myself. One has taken a dozen bears, and has never lost one. I did it once, and it was deadly efficient. You are talking out of your hat, because you clearly have no knowledge of the pursuit. If you would like to educate yourself, there are dozens of videos out there.

whatever my opinion of spear hunting is irrelevant but some fat f--k sitting on a stand and putting garbage around a tree to bait a bear and spear it ,is kind of pathetic in my eyes-most friends i have hunt and i fully support it but taking some pride in sportsmanship is another aspect that is overlooked many times.Wonder how many of these type of hunters could even run a 100 yrds without having a seizure.

how in your little mind did you figure im selling out hunters by my statement?oohh yaa by calling some fat and lazy and unsportsmanlike??read again there sunshine--i support all hunting but the sportsman like approach as well--what do you propose--dig a ditch -fill it with garbage and stand on the edge to shoot??to be supportive i have to stand by the losers that don't follow the etiquette???dont think so

Ironic, isn't it? For years, one of the arguments anti-hunting activists have used is that hunting isn't dangerous enough because firearms gave the hunter too much of an advantage. They said hunters should be restricted to primitive weapons like spears to make it a fair fight. When someone does it their way, though, they complain even more loudly.

Well there is no satisfying the activists, there is always one more radical than the last and the press listens

ya cause i live in kitchener there is no way i could possibly hunt---the 100yrd dash piss you off??

I didn't call you anything..... you singlehandedly labelled a group of hunters as fat and lazy and denounced baiting all in one post...... great job....

I hunt from stands and bait for bear and deer.... I also hunt deer over dogs and have a hunt camp where many people from your area come to get away from your mindset......

I am certainly not lazy and I can tell you that baiting takes a lot of work..... and a lot of research......

Who authorized you to determine what is or is not sportsmanlike?

Since the point of the exercise is to ultimately end all hunting, its not surprising the first attack would be against the type of hunting with the least participation. If opposition to the ban is slight, you can be sure similar bans will follow. Archery, muzzle loaders, non-repeating modern arms, will all be on the table.

The nice thing about etiquette is that its a personal judgement not a legal responsibility, so everyone can proceed according to their own conscience. If you don't like one style of hunting, choose another. The people you should be annoyed with are poachers, who steal from us all, not lawful hunters who purchase their licenses, and conduct their hunt in a lawful manner. By the way, having dug a few myself, I don't believe that digging a ditch is an activity that is typically carried out by a lazy, fat individual, and neither is bear hunting with a spear. But perhaps your thing is chasing deer with dogs; that's looked down on in some parts of the country as well, but its legal in Ontario last time I checked.

first post in the last few that makes good points---never stated i support any ban of ANY KIND(furthest from my mind as i know how one goes into another) but i do have my opinion on what is right and what i find wrong--and you are correct that everyone should proceed with their own conscience.

I bait and hunt bears every year in Ontario. And i can assure you I am no lazy fat F@ck. By your post it is quite obvious you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
