hey hunting crazies! i am a big bow hunter! but when ever i shoot i deer its just not the rush it use to be. so i have been looking into spear hunting. im thinking about the cold steel samburu spear. just woundering if its legal in saskatchewan. you wouldnt think it would be but then again i woudnt be suprised if it was.
thanks!

I know how you feel....after a decade with compounds, 80% let offs, optical sights, trigger releases, range finders, etc. etc. etc, it got kind of boring. I moved to recurves and that held me over for 5 years....now I'm shooting primitive :)

It's not a spear, but it's as close as you are legally going to get :)

Grab a 60-70 lb recurve and give it a shot.

Write your MLA.

Remember, one hand-written letter represents ~300 angry voters. "Dear MLA: I am a bow hunter. I want to hunt deer with a spear in Saskatchewan! Currently, the law..."

To prove his stealth, some natives used to sneak up on deer, stand up beside them and touch them with a bare hand. I believe they used a paint or such as proof that they did it. That meant you were at the top of your game, stealthwise. Made you a bigger man in the tribe. My grandfather used to tell stories of deer hunting with knives. I was small and he might have been pulling my leg, but there is too many stories of spear and knife kills to completely discount.
Personally, I'm about as stealthy as a Buffalo on Vicodin.
