Picked my 20" up, went to the range, cleaned it there, mounted my Falcon QD setup normally doing trainer duty on 22LR with 25 moa bases. Only had 150gr UMC L308W4 with me and fired a few on 25 then 50 since time was limited.

I think this will be a nice addition and alternative to my "damn big and heavy" 7.62 setup. It's no Ruger Frontier in weight, though that beastie is far heavier then it looks, but this could be a hunting partner.

Sadly I got side-tracked on the way to SFRC, and forgot to grab an S&J Linear compensator. Sight picture was not maintained on shot, as the muzzle bucked. My heavy rig doesn't budge, so I'll need to do "something" about it, but not add a monster brake.

It's worth the detour to go to SFRC :D

I was dead set on buying one of these for the last two years until i saw the Tikka CTR (at twice the price mind you). Otherwise i would have placed my order as soon as i got the email.

I bought a cheap break off ebay, and it's as tame as my .223 - full sight picture maintained. So the S&J would be a great add.

I wanted a CTR, but the 260 stainless proved too elusive. Heck, tried to find a 308 stainless and I was late for the party there as well.
I loose the Tikka hammer-forged greatness, super smooth bolt and gain easy caliber change. For this price, it was a no-brainer.

Happy with my CTR 260 Rem stainless, cost a bundle, 3/4 MOA with my skill, old model mags fit TRG.

Received the rifle and couldn't be happier.
Mounted a Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10x50 BDC on low Burris XTR to do some hunting. Hopefully I have time to take her out tomorrow! I have a few more goodies for her on the way such as scope caps and a linear compensator ;)

Seems odd cause I have bought 2 since they were introduced and both came with the scope rail mounted on them.

Mine was also mounted which I believe is the norm. If your scope rail is off I think you're ahead of the game because I have read about a lot of people having trouble getting them off (screws stripping) to clean out the machine oil underneith or to switch to a 20 moa slanted rail for long range. The trick is to heat the screws with a soldering iron supposedly.

Yeah a buddy of mine bought one a few months ago and it was already mounted. I thought about getting a slanted rail for long range but there aren't many place to shoot long range where I go. I sent my info in and they are going to pass it along to Savage, hopefully they can work it out soon as I was looking forward to trying it out mid Sept.

Thanks for the link, I read through it and it doesn't look good. Approx 11months turnaround time is not acceptable. An exhange would be much easier and less of a headache.
