Specops stock sticking on recoil

i know what the problem is.. its not the trigger guard.. its right above the trigger guard...the part where is says..."Made in China"...lol just kiddin..

if you have the long allen driver used to put on the stock.. try backing the mounting bolt back a few turns and that should tell you if its binding or if its the recoil mech..you might also see some bright shiny spots where the contact is being made if you take it off completely.

With my non digital micrometer (can't find my good one just yet...) the Rem gaurd comes in at 12mm/ 1/2 "; maybe a Red either side...

OK, found my 'real' one... .496"/12.6mm...

My dial caliper puts the rinco trigger guard at 0.500" so it seems on spec.

I'm going to pull the stock off and check the thickness of the safety housing.

Thanks for the measurement Doc911!

I would call Knoxx phone support. They might be able to walk you through a fix of some sort. At worst you get an RMA# for replacement.

I just called Knoxx at the above number. They said to lube the outside of the trigger guards and shoot it till it loosens up. If I want to get a replacement then I have to return it to the dealer who will then contact Knoxx, get an RMA# and send me a replacement.

Since my trigger guard is within spec at 0.500" it is probably not a problem with the Norinco being out of specification. I will micrometer the safety housing tonight after removing the stock. if it is 0.500" as well, I think I'll send it back to TSE for replacement.

my Knoxx on my remington 870 tactical is doing it too

on mine it seems to be sticking to the bottom of the trigger guard (from some light rub mark)
I'm going to work mine a bit, see if it loosens,
and I may file the inside of the stock part thats sticking if need be.

ps
if these stocks do this on all these different types of guns, maybe they should be making the stocks with slighty larger cavities for the trigger guard..

I tried out my new Specops recoil reducing stock on my Norinco HP9-1.

It is sticking in the compressed position aftering firing. I can release it by beating on the forward surface of the pistol grip.

With birdshot and a very light grip it doesn't stick. With birdshot and a very tight grip it will stick occassionally.

With full power slugs it nearly always sticks regardless of how hard I grip it.

I oiled the trigger guard surfaces but it still sticks.

.

same thing with my grizzly i hope it will go away after time

I had recently bought the remington 870 super mag max gobbler with the spec ops stock and for turkey loads it kept sticking just like yours. I dont think it was actually touching anything but just a poor design. I ended up trading the gun in for a super black eagle 2 with the steady grip. Alot nicer gun.

Back from the dead thread. I solved the sticking problem by spraying lube inside the pistol grip and a little into the front of the pistol grip. Works like a charm now.
