the scope at 4X has the same eye relief as the old one but has to be mounted farthur foreward than th C79. with an A2 stock i have to force my head foreward to get a good view.

the red dot is very bright on its maximun in daylight. the crosshairs are barely visable in daylight, even at MAX. in the dark the glow quite nicely. i'm sure with NVG they would be purfect. the red dot probly not so much.

will try out at the range on saturday.
 
Does the Specter sit lower than the C79? it looks from the photos that the tube sits lower on the rail than the old version. Can you confirm this is the case?
 
For what you pay for it, it sure is an ugly thing. You would think that Elcan would take a little time and pretty it up a little...but i guess it does the job.

Yet to be proven. Guess we'll see over time.....I know a few infanteers looking to try it in Afghanistan next tour.....

Can you post a picture of them side by side?
 
powerwagon how are these optics holding up ?? Have been hearing that they are pretty good... What are you opinions on it ?

Might look to get one in the future... want to get into service rifle....
