Hey guys,
I'm coming into a little down time from work and wanted a small gun related project to work on. I'm sure many of you think these unfinished lowers are silly and you may be right. But before I decide one way or the other I was hoping to get some thoughts and opinions on these pseudo glock kits and I would like to hear from anyone who may have finished, or known someone who did, one of these kits, and the availability of parts to finish off the project.

I also saw dlask has quite the ###y unfinished 1911 kit but without a jig I fear I would have a tougher time finishing off the job. By the way I have access to a mill, lathe and drill press and am relatively competent when it comes down to it. Any advice good or bad is appreciated. Thanks!

I've seen one of these once it was finished. Didn't take the CFC too long to approve, though they did want it to go to a local verifier. It ran like a Glock (that means perfectly)!

It was apparently pretty easy to do. CTCSupplies.ca sells the kits and has the parts. Complete uppers aren't too hard to come by on the EE as guys are using the Glock lowers to make premium builds like ZEV.

The 1911 kits are more work as they're metal, but it sounds like you have the right gear and skills. 1911s are more finicky than Glocks, so the builds are too...

Let us know how it goes!

Watch some youtube videos on the specter frame, alot of people were having problems with them as the frame wasent an exact match to the glock frame. After you do the work to complete the frame you have to do additional mods just to make it run reliably

Was at my range a few days ago, guy in the lane beside me was shooting one he built. Not one failure the whole time he was shooting, I talked to him about it. He said when he first built it, it would not cycle reliably, then he did more hand filling at the rear slide rails . And after that hand fitting it worked flawlessly. He also said he did everything with hand files only, no drill press etc

His frame grip area was also shaved down and stippled, I liked how it looked and fit the hand a lot better then how they come
