Discovered this speedloader languishing in a bargain bin at the local gun store.
It's a Safariland N1, designed for S & W 'N' frame 357 mag / 38 spl.
The 'N' frame wheelguns must have more meat between the chambers on the cylinder as the bullets didn't have the proper angle to enter the cylinder properly. But with a small file and two cups of coffee I modified it. I first knocked out a very small pin ahead of the latch, dis-assembled it and took a very small bit off of the brass plate that holds the ahead of the rim to retain the cartridge. This was req'd as the 41 LC's are of greater diameter than the 38 spl so the star(term?) wouldn't allow the 41 LC's to be gripped properly.
I reassembled it & with a few licks of the file reduced the plastic piece that gave the cases proper spacing so that the bullets lined up perfect for the antique colt cylinder.
Works pretty good IMO
The only down side to the whole deal is this particular speedloader is no longer manufactured but if one is spotted in the bargain bin or at a gun show...makes a nice accessory for the old Colts.
LOL, slow night at work for Tokguy
