speedloaders and IPSC

Front Positioning Is OKEH IF NO PRONE EH!
I do agree that having the loaders well in front is a fast setup for IPSC Revolver. However IF you have to flop down prone and/or trip and fall on all those extra "proturberances" it will be "excrutiating" together with rendering the speedloader U/S if openly exposed. I have opted to carry the revolver speedloaders for my N-Frame M-27 on both sides up towards the hipbone.
The speedloader position for IPSC Revlover was something I struggled with in 2001 as after years of competing in Standard Division IPSC with my Colt 1911A1. My "default mode" has and is now still to reach on my left hand for the "extra ammo'. That's okeh as it is really "Bianchi's Law" in operation...where under stress you do whatever is programmed in eh!
With a 625 S&W 45ACP and positioning "Shoot the Moon" moonclips on my left side the positioning works as well o rbetter as it did with the Colt 1911A1. With the S&W 625 or 25 here is no need to transfer the revolver to the left hand to "work the moon clip reload". Just as with the 1911A1 with a S&W 625 you can keep the pistol in the right hand and use the left hand to both eject the empties and reload another six.
One experienced pistolero pointed out to me that having the speedloaders on one's right side is the easiest route. In a Shaw book entitled "You Can't Miss" from 1982 John Shaw carried his revolver speedloaders on his left at his front so when he bent his right hand it dropped down in front naturally to the left at that point on his belt.
What I have found on the "Long IPSC Courses" of 32 shots is that you cant have too many speedloaders so a real belt full encompassing the entire waist is a good alternative. You can have ten for 60 rounds, enough to shoot a PPC Match as well.
Would also note that always carrying the speedloaders in front will not transfer well to IDPA Revolver if and when anyone decides to try yet another "gun game". Having them back at either hip bone will and will let you shoot Production Division in IPSC.
The beauty with S&W revlover with moonclips is that the entire assembly can just be "thrown into the cylinder" when "stress degrades fine motor skills". At one IPSC revolver match I just dumped my 100 plus moonclip rounds into a shotgun 25rd pouch on my left side and shot the entire match that way. Less is More Eh.
When you "dont have time to think" it is very comforting when the "reloads just magically appear" from where your subconscious is programmed to get them. Reflexes can either comfort or betray you eh! You do under stress what you practice...default mode kicks in when you least expect it.

True enough, but there are a whole bunch of revolvers on the "list of approved pistols for Production Division". If you choose to shoot a revolver in Production Division, you have to follow the PD equipment placement rules (as well as all of the others).
Looks like that Dragoon guy beat me by that much.
Quigley that is what I meant, shooting revolver in production not production revolver div. I used to carry the speed loaders strong side but am trying a left hand reload now (I wonder if it'll help?). The other thing is I usually get lumped into standard div (not enough revolver shooters

Not wanting to hijack this but it touches a topic near and dear to my waistline ( that and the fact I don't have one ) I would like to try the revolver thing but I want to know how would you carry your extra ammo if you hae a bit of TOF (Tummy Over Flow ) problem and not alot of direct access to the front of the belt.
