Coming up, September 5th, there will be a few prizes to be won. Gift certificates will be drawn for during the am and pm shoots. Larger value prizes being drawn for, based on the total day turn out. So, come out and shoot... The more times you shoot the better your chance to win. Those interested need only send an e-mail to speedsteel@shaw.ca to register for the am, pm, or both to shoot. Average rounds to bring is 350rds. Speed & accuarcy are key, no power factors. You can even shoot your 10/22 in our carbine category!
For more info. or to sign up, just e-mail speedsteel@shaw.ca. See you there.

True, it is. But not every pistol and revolver shooter is involved with IPSC.

This event is a tremendous low key match for any handgun shooter regardless of skill level or that "suffers" from a lack of enthusiasm for more formal and higher pressure match situations.

And it's .22 friendly. Not just for 10/22 carbines but also for .22 handguns of all types.

If shooting holes in paper seems to be losing it's glamour then this event is the next step for you. Come out with your handgun(s) and join in the fun.

A great way to shoot in these is to bring a .22 and a centerfire. Shoot one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Shooting the .22 for 1/2 the day helps keep the day's cost under control. Or if you're a .22 fiend then shoot it for both the morning and afternoon matches.

There's also an enthusiastic group that shoots revolver at these on any given day. So break out that six gun and shoot side by side with other wheelgun fans.

So if you're not a dedicated IPSC shooter that'll be at the Provincials why not pack up your guns and join the fun at this alternative event. Trust me, there's nothing like the sound of the steel ringing from your shot to cheer you up and make the day seem brighter.

ah i've been wanting to come to one of these, but i will be at the ipsc provincials, but i will be watching the mission web site for the next one..

So tempted to make it over for this. Mission is pretty close to the ferry isn't it? I just hate to spend $120 on the boat just to go shooting for the day.
Cheers,
Grant

If you're on the Island then NO it isn't pretty close to the ferry. It's a good hour and a third from the ferry. And since you mentioned the $120 I'm guessing you're not reffering to the now shut down Albion ferry.... :D

As much as it would be great to see you there and the fact that I'm sure you'd have a good time I just can't see coming over from the Island for this alone. If you have friends or family to visit and mooch an overnight stayover from then sure! But otherwise as much fun as it is it's not a ferry ride's cost worth of fun.

speed steel

It was and excellent time, even for someone like me with no time. Im pushing for better advertising that we could post at our range and other ones. Most likely we will be shooting something similar through the winter here.
Weather held out as well. way to go guys.
p.s do i get a trophy?

Yes, we had to pull some strings to get the weather to cooperate.... :D

This event is so low key and newbie friendly that anyone that owns a handgun owes it to their gun's well being and personal growth to bring them out to one of these meets. No one will berate you for misses or taking overly long. This is about fun and learning to shoot against the clock to make you a better shooter. Even if the ink on your RPAL is still wet and your first handgun is barely broken this is the event for you.

Got a buddy that wants to shoot IPSC but doesn't think they are good enough yet? Or maybe they are waiting to get a BB course or for their belt rig to come in? Then this is the event for them and for you just to get in some rapid shot practice.
