speer 150gr boat tail soft point COAL

Can someone here give the speer manual's starting COAL length for using Speer 150 gr boat tail sp in 30-06 using varget? In my my lee manual it calls for 3.25" but the projectile is only held by .170".When .010" off the lands, its even less at around only .130". Seems too little. Any help appreciated.

if you feel that's not enough then seat it deeper, easy...

are you planning on hunting with it, or is it for long range stuff?

I plan on hunting so dont need bullets clover leafing. Would i not start running into pressure problems if i go shorter than specified min. COAL?

no, use what ever COAL that works for your specific gun and or mags. as long as you start low and work your way up to find a load that is best for your gun. if you were to put the bullet super deep and use the max charge you might have pressure issues, but every gun is different.
