SPEER Bullets gone???

Really? Just picked up some deep curl flatnoses to try in the 30-30. If they are discontinued I hope they shoot like crap so I won't feel bad when I can't find more....

Email them, I wonder if they are discontinued while they make the most common stuff. Hornady is doing it hence the 303 bullet shortage.

I check their website frequently and I too notice that they don't list the Deep Curls and various offerings anymore, hopefully that doesn't mean they are discontinued. Awesome bonded bullets in my opinion, I have no need for another 30 cal hunting bullet. I fired off an email to Speer, hopefully they will clarify.

My buddy just sent Speer an email and yes Speer confirmed they are discontinued. If anyone knows where to find Speer Deep-Curl's .338 225gr, it would be greatly appreciated.

and that folks is the story of good marketing/distribution vs good product is all about. They have a great product - superior to many in my opinion ( at a great price!) but they didnt have the marketing and thus lacked sales - I suspect. Too bad because there were a lot of great reviews on the deep curl bullets and I was looking forward to doing more load testing on them ... but I guess that is now a lost cause

Except they aren't bonded but rather plated bullets.

They are (were) plated, bonded bullets. Not thermally bonded but electrochemically bonded.

The point though, is that they are now discontinued. Just got an email back from senior tecnical coordinator Coy Getman who confirms they are done. Gonna have to find some more before they are gone.

Yep I looked for Hot Cors for my whelen but due to the States buy up we arnt expecting any shipments for quite some time.. from Speer, Nosler aswell plus any American producer.

but on the flip side we have Australian bullet makers stepping up to the plate and making 30 cal an 224 for the moment, making complete bullet jackets FB an boat tail etc... that's a good sign for us

Goes to show that buying a lifetime supply, or at least a large supply of stuff you want to use is the way to go. I still have a few hundred Speer 200 grain GS .311 bullets, and they have not made them for a long time. My dad, who lived through the 30's always said "don't waste those partitions, you never know if you will be able to get any more" . Maybe that is why I am a bullet hoarder.

I like Grand Slams too; have some in .308 and .375.

Wanted to try the TBBC before they were disco'd as Speer-branded components by ATK, but never got around to it.

I think it's just the Deep Curl bullets that are discontinued this time, not Speer altogether.
