Seems that no one wants to sell Speer bullets anymore. :(

Nosler and Barnes gets marketed to death with full coverage. Hornady, Remington and WW get a meagre smattering here and there, but not much Speer at all.

How come?

I've noticed Speer bullets are harder to come by lately too. I was looking for some target pistol bullets and had a heck of a time finding it. Even the big box stores like WSS, Cabela's, and Bass Pro doesn't carry much Speers. A local dealer called up Speers to order 10,000 bullets from them. They had none in stock and kept delaying a production run. So he asked if he upped the order to 20,000 if they would get production going. That didn't get their attention. So out of curiosity he asked about 50,000 bullets. They said they were too busy filling military contracts right now. :(

Here too, Speer seems to vanish from the scene. LeBaron have them, but as usual, they run out of stock quick and just keep popular (in their mind) calibers / bullet constructions. I've been lucky enough to grab some TBBC wich were in liquidation.

Game has gotten a lot tougher - you know, evolution.

I also like the Speer Grand Slam (old style) and Mag Tip.

They haven't really changed their bullets in years so why market the backside off them? Barnes, Hornady and Nosler have spent so much money to build a better mousetrap that they have to hype their product to try to recoup some costs.

FWIW P&D had a pretty decent selection of Speer last time I was in there. Should have looked for more 350gr .416" Mag-Tips. Great practice/NA hunting bullet (not NAA hunting bullet, because that would just be wrong:D).
