Hello all.
I just bought my first box of 180 grain Deep Curls for my '06.
First thing I noticed was the paper on the inside of the box saying not to use the published reloading data for other types of bullets of the same weight. A quick check of the Speer website showed data that is pretty much the same as other 180 gr bullets in various manuals....Lyman, Nosler, etc.
I've been shooting 55 gr of IMR 4350 behind a 180 gr Hot Cor for years with great success. While I know it is a safe practice to back off a load a bit when changing any component, can anyone offer any insight as to why Speer made that statement, or is it just a "cover your butt" thing. Thanks very much.
Chris

CYA

You never know what will happen when you start swaping out components.
180gr deep curls are about 100 fps slower than 180gr Hornady SST's with
the same charge of 4350sc, in my rifle.
I assume thats because the pressure is lower.
Be sure to CYA.
