Hey guys,

question....

When loading the 230gr SGD, what load date do you follow? My lyman manual has a 225gr HP listed, and then the 230gr round nose. Does it matter, as they are pretty close? If not, what OAL do i use?

The Speer book has data for their gold dot bullets and on some of their calibers specifically say not to use data from their other bullets of the same weight, I will check when I get home

"...what load date..." Date? There's jacketed 230 grain load data on Hodgdon's site. Under no circumstances should you use cast bullet datra with jacketed bullets. Far more important to not use jacketed data with cast though.
"...then the 230gr round nose..." That a jacketed bullet? That's the data you use. You load for the bullet weight. Who made the bullet or its configuration(HP etc) doesn't matter. Speers book is CYAing themselves.

ok i have another question...

is it a bad thing that the bullet tips are being squashed when i seat them? i have re set up the dies 3 times, and to get them seated deep enough,it is squashing the tip.
not sideways or anything, but making them more of a round nose.
