Speer Hot-Cor?

Looking for any info on Speer Hot-Cors, specifically 30cal 150 grainers. Accuracy, game performance etc. I recently picked up a box for load development, for a new-to-me 308 that I haven’t shot yet. Was planning on using the rifle for deer hunting.

I have found them to be a good performing bullet. I use a 165 gr Speer Hot-Cor in a .30-06 load for moose.

Hot core's are good bullets, but I find them hard to get in Canada seems nobody wants to stock them, I really like the 9.3 270 grain

Great bullet deadly for deer and bear never used on moose but I am sure it would do job.
150gr in 308 win and lots of varget

Many deer and two elk taken with 165 HotCor in a Winchester Model 70 308. My rifle matches up pretty close to Speer #14 RL-15 maximum load @ 2,800 fps on a Shooting Crony. Several 1" and under 3 shot groups when sighting in / swapping scopes.

Agreed, good hunting bullets, at their best when not pushed over2700- 2800 fps. I have had excellent reasults on moose and bear with.303/180, .308/180 in 30-06, .338/270 in .338 Win Mag and especially the 9.3/270 in 9.3x62. And all at a reasonable price.

Ive used the hotcors in my 8x57. The 150 gr shot fine and took a deer with it, preformed as expected. I also used the 170gr @ 2790 fps on my largest bear so far, Dropped it on the spot at about 70 Yards. 200gr Hotcor at 2600fps is my preference now, recovered a bullet in a nice buck a few years back and it was a perfect mushroom and weight retention was approx 80%.

IMO The speer is the best bang for your money ( cup and core).
