$ Spent on Ammo Per Range Trip

You could take up golfing. Green fees. Beer cart. Snack at the club house. Lose a few balls. More beer cart.
Shooting is not an expensive sport compared to others.

$168 plus $10 for targets last time. A bit higher than usual but around what I normally shoot per session. 300rds of .44mag plus some 9mm or .40
Thank goodness for reloading, the same trip with factory ammo would have run well over $430.
It might seem like a lot but shooting is almost free compared to race cars.

I don't know. My concern is "Do I have enough ammo?" Never have wondered about the cost.

I load my own. My guess is $50 to $100 a session.

I just bought 10,000 primers. That cost me $600, but will be spread over several months of shooting.

I roll all of my own ammo with the odd rare exception, virtually all rifle calibers and there are several calibers I use so a figure would vary somewhat from trip to trip. I'm guessing somewhere in the $50.00 plus range would pretty much cover it for me as I don't shoot hundreds of rounds at a time.

It's always between $100 and $200, depending on the season. Typically we go through a brick of 22LR, a box or 2 of 45ACP, then a box or 2 of handloads for rifle or pistol. If I bring my AR-15 we'll hose 5 to 10 boxes of Chinese ammo downrange.

$34 for targets
$32 for shells
$8 for beer

Doesn't seem like enough for beer...

Oh and I'm probably on the low end of this. More like $35 usually with some .22 and then a few 12 gauge... however I expect that to rise when I get my new M & P sport lol.

I usually shoot 22LR, 9mm, 38spl, 357mag, 223 and 12gauge.

Depending on what guns I've taken to the range on that day, it's usually between 50 and 500$.

22LR are 40-50$ per brick
9mm is 15$/50
38 is 20/50
357 is 25/50
223 is 40-50/100
12 is 85/250

Targets are free at my range.

I think I average about $50 for ammo, gas really kills me when I go by myself kicking it up to $70 a trip if I bring lunch. I'll shoot a little over half a brick of .22lr a trip and a box or two of reloads for whatever center fire rifle has tickled my fancy that week.

I used to go to the range once a month, bring 5-8 rifles and end up shooting $200 worth of ammo. Since I've started going more frequently I care more about how much I shoot. Bringing only a couple rifles and one handgun allows me to focus on learning more from what I'm doing and also spend much less on ammo.

I bought .22 ammo when prices were low and selection was great. And I reload my centerfires. So I've got myself convinced that it's basically free shooting for me.
But in the real world, to replace the ammo I've shot on a typical range day would be a little over a hundred bucks.

Practice days about $40 at sporting clays - closer to $100 at the pistol range.

Rob!

edited to add; Double that for sporting clays if you count the cost of targets

I don't really think about it too much, but if I'm honest I would say at least $200 per range trip. Expensive hobby but so are all the others.

Usually around $60-$100 when I'm at the indoor range.

Lately when I visit the Mile, I spend around 3-6 hours between long range, pistol and sporting rifle 223. Those can be $200-$500 dollar days pretty quick.

Must shoot or ammo will go bad, ok?

Must shoot my ammo or it will go bad:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:.....seriously.I reload and shoot mil surplus ammo, so probably$150-200, plus the money I spend at my LGS , usually for primers and powders, so add another $100+
Plus $20 for road breakfast and sandwich for range day.

My ammo bill last year would of paid for a trip to Mexico all inclusive for me and the wife. A point she made at the start of this year. Been to the range exactly 3x in 2017 and going south later this year.....don't know if it's good or bad but I sure miss shooting 2 or 3 times a week.
