Spent shotgun shells

I am relatively new to firearms, so I don't know a whole lot about reloading. Anytime I shoot a shotgun I pick up the spent shells. I am wondering what my options are: sell them to someone who reloads? Give them away? Recycling bin?

Good for you, neatness counts and too many slobs within the shooting community are presenting a poor image of us.
Not many people reloading shotgun any more but there is still some demand for small gauge empties ( 28 & 410) and 12 gauge premium target hulls, ( Win AA, Federal Gold Medal, Remington STS ) . In general, if your recycle system will take them ( many won't) this is a good option but mostly nowadays they go in the garbage most places.
