Split case in 10/22

Last week at the range first time ever with my 10/22 Stainless I have had about a year, it FTE. I had to pry out the case and noticed that it was split lengthwise from the mouth to the rim.

Today while shooting at a friend's farm I had at least 2 confirmed (one fell into the grass and I could not find it to confirm) same split case.

The ammo is Remington Yellowjacket. I am blaming this on the ammo but have never had a problem with this ammo before.

Anyone else have this?? Should I switch ammo??
 
I had a lot of Remington .22 ammo where the firing pin pierced the casing and sent hot gas and brass in your face. I don't shoot Remington rimfire ammo anymore.
 
I Shoot yellow jackets exclusively in all my .22's including the 1022. Never an issue. I have however had tight case problems with Stingers in the semi autos.
 
Yellow Jackets are the best one shot stop bullets for gophers, that I have found. My CZ 452 likes them and are accurate to 100 yards, but my Cooey 600 will have a split rim every 50 rounds or so due to the large firing pin hole (very unnerving). I think it has to do with how well the case is supported in the chamber and on the bolt face, the Yellow Jackets will find the flaws in your rifle.
 
I was out again today with another brand with no issues. I lent the Yellow Jackets to a friend to shoot, he had a couple miss-fires with it.

It used to be a great ammo, killed many gophers and groundhogs with it. Is their QC going downhill in the ammo department??

AFter I get through this batch that is it.
 
I havent had any real ftf/fte with yellow jackets in my 10/22 but there were quite a few duds. Some 50 rd boxes had a couple misfires each. I think remington QC has been going downhill for a while, the chinese seem to be better craftsmen than remington these days.
