split case necks

A few days ago,when i got back from doing a bit of shooting with my 9.3x64,i discovered that some of my cases had a split neck.I have never encountered such a problem with RWS cases (which i used in this case).It would be understandable if i had reloaded them several times,but they were brand new.I also used a brand new RCBS die to load them,so there should not lie the problem.Does any of you fellas have a solution to this,or perhaps encountered similar problems?

you'll probably have to anneal your cases. Yes they are new and they should have been annealled at the factory qafter they were made, but were they?

Yeah,i think you are right.I just,subconciously,could not believe that my beloved RWS brass would be so brittle.

every time you work brass you harden it a little more.

so with each necksizing the brass gets a little more brittle.

I have just started expirimenting with annealing brass myself in hope that I can extend brass life a few more reloads
