Movie posters are usually done by artists (meaning no gun nutz), who weren't even on the set. They OFTEN have technical mistakes to them, that aren't represented in the movie.
Then again, sometimes the movies are bad too. Just the other night I watched some POS called "Battle Recon", purportedly about the 1st SSF in WW2. I got no further than the first few minutes of battle: one guy was crawling along a beach with some vague looking "battle rifle", and when he gets up to surrender (yea GREAT start to an action movie about war...), I can see he's holding the gun by the grip, one handed, with just two fingers...this was either made of balsa wood, or a light rubber latex or something...clearly not a 10lb Garand, or 9 lb bolt gun battle rifle. So I skipped ahead to see if the movie got better...to me it seemed to get worse so I got rid of that one.
If you want a movie about the 1st SSF, the only one I know of worth having is the superb "The Devils' Brigade" with William Holden. If there's another, I'm all ears!
