has anyone loaded hornady 178 gr match bullets for this 308 and did they work thanks

I don't see why not. I haven't used the Amax 178's, but I've used the Amax 155 to good effect at 500m. You might also take a look at the Berger 175gr, it's numbers are a bit better than the Amax.

if it has an original barrel it will have a 14" twist and you will be lucky to stabilize a long 178 grain boattail
