Sportdog uplander 1850 E collar

4 years ago I bought a Sportdog uplander 1850 e collar, this model has the beeper on it as well.
I paid over $400 for this collar for my brit. Had her out for a walk last night and noticed the little plastic ring around the push button for the beeper is broken. This is the second time this happened in 4 years. What happens is it leaks and then starts shorting out.

I am far from impressed with this collar and the customer service was terrible last time it happened. I will be calling Sportdog today.

Anyone else have this collar, have you had problems and how did you make out dealing with sportdog?

my understanding is if you handle guns and get a thin film of gun oil from your hand onto the buttons, it ruins the rubber(eats it away)

this is easy to have happen if you're hunting and your gun hand works the buttons

Sportdog service sucks! I had a collar for 4 years and the it died. They had no replacement parts and offered a small discount for a new version. Like an idot, I bought a new collar from Cabelas. It was a Sportdog. Somehow, the battery in the collar does not last after three years. It shuts off by itself, also! They want $$ for a replacement.

My Tritronic had lasted years and years. I will get a new Tritronic, now!

Just got off the phone with sportdog, this time they are replacing the beeper with no shipping or handling charge. I should have it in 7 to 10 days. This was better customer service than I experienced a couple of years ago. Hopefully their service and quality continues to impove
