Sportering/Caliber change on a Ross Rifle

I guess my confusion has stemmed from this:

I had an M-10 years ago that I had re-chambered into 303Epps. The issue was always the magazine. It was at best a two shot rifle. The mag being designed for the steep taper of the 303British, the straight walled Epps would not stack properly in the mag.
It could be loaded to obscene levels of performance, but I had the original barrel re-chambered, just as a play with it rifle, that barrel was pitted and worn. It shot within reason, but was never stellar.
If you want to use the mag, it will need a re-design for modern cartridges IMO. Much like the Ishapore 2A1 had to have a different mag than it's parent the British SMLE for the modern 7.62 Nato round.

You need a single stack mag, I think there used to be someone who built them.

^I can no longer find the "45/70" magazines on the web.

The same site made the claim that jdj wildcats would feed from enfield magazines with no modifications as well. Both claims appear to have disappeared from the site, or I am looking on the wrong one...
