Ended up with this girl a number of years ago as part or a package deal. Never shot it. No real interest in lee enfields to be honest. Want to make some room.
Pictures below. I know nothing about em. Worth something? Or there is already a billion sporterized ones and its missing sights?

Hows the bore? Cleaned up it might make a nice rifle.

Not worthless by far. Probably get about 200 for it with the mount, The SnK mounts are supposed to be one of the better no drill mount.

Or like mentioned, if you wanted you could find someone just getting into hunting but cant afford a shiny new Winchester and give it to that person just to get them started.

3 important questions:

Is the barrel full length, not cut off, still has the bayonet lugs and the inch of so of barrel forward of them?

How is the bore? Clean, shiny like new? Darker than the Black Hole of Calcutta? Deep, clean rifling?

Do the bolt and receiver serial numbers match?

Those questions bear on it's desirability to desporterize. Being a cosmetically challenged, Suncorite peeling British sporter makes it not top tier anyway.

The $200 quoted is probably not far off the mark.

What ya see is what ya get. So i suspect no bayonet lug.

This length look cut down I assume?

It has a nice crown on the end so assuming it was cut, they put some effort into it.

Rifling I would say is fairly good, way more than most of the cheap mosins I have seen. Looks pretty smooth to me, no pitting.

Cant find a serial number on the bolt.

I don't think you will have to hard of a time selling it, if you want to give it away just send it my way lol. My deer rifle is actually similar, 43 Longbranch no4 that's been sporterized. I added a similar mount and a scope and have hunted successfully with it this year, I purposefully kept my eyes open for a sporter no4 to hunt with. So there are others like me that have a soft spot for a sporterized .303, it's a quintessential Canadian rifle to hunt with that's tried and true. Will take any large game in North America and has been putting meat in the freezer for decades, smooth action and I love how the safety operates.

The S&K mount on it is worth an easy $50. so, if the gun is shootable (i.e. good bore) i agree that $200 is not impossible to get for that one.

Before ignorant people with more money than brains started turning up their noses at 'bubba'd' milsurps ,these rifles put a lot of meat on tables ,and they still can

Is that a No.4? I’ve actually been wanting a sporterized one for a scout rifle project. Looks like an original rear sight could be reinstalled.

If you’re interested in getting rid of it give me shout, although I’m sure you’ve received some private offers already.

Suncorite peeling Brit bubba #4. Bring it to an F class shoot & dress & act like a bayman. It would be worth it to see the looks of horror on the faces of the 'sports'. :D

Sincerely there is something novel & engaging about the Brit convention of black enamel finish for service arms. It works just fine as a quick tough more easily maintained surface treatment. The Sterling carbines are an excellent example of deniable Arts & Crafts / Art Deco influence in the arms trade.

I have one exactly like that. Including the scope mount. It was most likely bought from the Sears catalog in the early 70's (minus the scopemount) like mine was. They sold a lot of them. I think they were around $75. Mine is a great shooter. Loads of fun but ammo isn't cheap. Like ButcherBill.......... always had a soft spot for that rifle. With some minor effort and a couple o' bucks You could make her beautiful again.
