I hope some of you CGN people can help answer my question, back in the 60's and early 70's the sporting goods section of the Eaton's and Simpson Sear's as well as S I R Sporting Goods catalouges always had both SMLE & No.4 rifles in their catalouges{mostly in the Fall catalouges},these rifles were all "Sporterized". Where were these rifles sporterized,??? in Canada or the U.S.,also what were the names of the shops that would do this work.???

Parker-Hale and BSA in the UK did lots.

Some of the Parker-Hales with new stocks looked pretty good.

I have a pretty basic "commercial Bubba" U.S. Model of 1917 30-06 created by BSA.

InterArms of Virginia (Sam Cummings) had a large number of them done in Birmingham, England. Many of those were distributed by Century International Arms, when they were operating out of Montreal.

They were bubba'd all over. Century was in Quebec, long ago, assembling rifles out of parts bins with zero QC. They assembled thousands of 'em with no regard to how safe the rifle was/is to shoot.
Globco was the company that tried to get those Russian semi-auto's to shoot .303 Brit. Most of them have bad headspace.
Parker-Hale sporterized lots too, but with good QC. They rebuilt more than just cut down.
No matter where an Enfield was bubba'd, always check the headspace before you shoot it.
