Had the pleasure of coffee and a wide ranging discussion on hunting & sporting arms with a group of CGNers. Great to see those that were able to attend and enjoyed meeting stickhunter and mauser98 for the first time.

Great bunch of guys and always enjoy Teds visits to the island. In many cases, these sessions end up being, not only interesting but also an enlightening and informative session for yours truly. The knowledge and experiences of many of the guys at these coffee meetings far out strips my own. And, always enjoy meeting and getting together with people that have similar interests.:)
 
I'm glad I had the chance to meet up with the guys and put some names to faces/handles. This was my first time attending, but I hope it won't be my last. I got a chance to ask Johnn about his visit with Elmer Keith and to inquire about some of the rifles that he's photographed --- in many ways it didn't feel like we were meeting for the first time as I've learned a lot from him and others by reading their posts over the years.

The other purpose of my visit was to pick up an older NEI 375 mould that I'd purchased from Ted. The mould's quite unique in that it takes pieces of 3/8 copper tubing to provide a jacket on the bearing surface. I'm looking forward to casting some up and seeing the results, although I have to add a 375 to my safe first --- anyone got a lead on a 375 JDJ barrel for a Contender? :)

Here's the NEI mold Stirling is speaking about. Casts a 335 gr bullet with a copper driving band around the shank.

He will never run out of 375 bullets as long as there is copper tubing and lead to be found. :)

Looking forward to the next visit. Your bullet mold definately lent an interesting show & tell aspect to our meeting today and thanks for that. It would be a novel 375 projectile to work with. Hope to get my 375 out for some;) 'exercise' within the next few days.

I didn't think the CGN Coffee Club allowed members with their original hair colour in?

I thought that was just a given, Johnn. Look at all that information those young guys are gleaning from a meeting like that, worth at least the price of a few coffees and doughnuts I would think !!!!
