Sporting clay

What are the prices you guys are paying to shoot Sporting?

Here at Lambton Sportsman Club just outside Sarnia ON members pay $12/50 or $24/100, non-members pay $2 or $4 extra depending on 50 or 100. Trappers are paid the minimum wage and shooters are expected to but not forced to tip the trap boys $1 or $2 each as well.

Silver wilow isn't cheap but it is my favourite club by far. Thanks to good targets and great people. The Day family has done lots to promote support and develop our sport in Alberta. Hats off to them. Ijust wish it was two sporting courses instead of one and a golf course.

I agree it is a great place to shoot. It is just too expensive and it alway has been for the average shooter who is not in the oil business to practice there on a regular basis. I also wish that there were two sporting courses, but Mr. Day has often said that golf is more lucrative than sporting. In the very near future I would expect more golf and no sporting at Silver Willow. The good that may have been done for sporting will become un done and there will be a definate vast void to fill.

Besides the guy who had to brag about the E.U.

Nice thread Hi-jack:cool:

To the O.P. I would run the range to what the members want. You could have a more challenging set-up in the A.M, then at after lunch run a series of easier rounds for newbies and beginners.

I have heard recently that the AHIEA club at dewinton has purchased the Sporting Clays machines from the Brooks Clays and pheasants club and will be setting up a sporting clays course at the Calgary Firearms Centre South of Calgary.
