Spotted this guy while out hunting

Dr.Ache

Good thing you didn't shoot that bear, he's not really a shooter unless you are looking for some meat. Look at the size of his ears in comparison to his head, the ears are large, so the bear is not...
bu
Nice looking fur on him and he's got lots of fat for the winter, but he's a 5 ft bear, no more.

:agree:

Meat bear great. Trophy? Depends on your def of trophy. My only deer mount is my first -- a little basket 4pt. I have the hides of both bear I shot as the circumstances were the trophy. But you won't be hearing from Band C on that one.

fawn distress call would work, but id go for a wounded rabbit or somthing high pitched. keep calling till he comes to where you want him. if you stop calling he will stop coming so call continuily untill he close enough to you where you can get a good shot.

if he runs onto the property and dies, and land owner still wont give you permisson to retrive id call the cops and or the COs and get them to help you

Once again, the ONLY place to call him that doesn't belong to the rancher is the middle of the road :(

As noted he is not a large bear but the color is unique and the eating would be better than a 7 footer no doubt...If you get a chance take him and be proud of it...

Drache, as others have already pointed out, that is not a big bear, likely only 2 or 3 years old. He is a very nice colored bear though and I can understand your temptation to put him in the freezer.

Take a rag and soak it in fryer oil and fish. Tie it to a string, tie the other end of the string to your bumper. Drive down the road until you find a spot you can shoot the bear. Repeat until there is a solid trail of stench going down the road . . . and then wait.
