Spotting scope for long distance

All the cameras do that.
Some do more, what I want might not be what you want. Which is fine..... Just trying to figure out if it's a hardware issue or software issue you had...... ?

I bought a Pentax 80ED (used) on ebay, and a Manfrotto/Bogen tripod and head (used) also on ebay a couple summers ago. Once the dust settled I had about $1000 CAD into the setup. The review at the link Mebiuspower provided is pretty accurate.

Good to know. I plan to get this setup one day (already have a Manfrotto tripod) but right now I will just use my 4.5-30x scope as my spotting scope for .308 holes @ 300-400 yards. Pentax makes some good quality stuff and they're fairly under-rated. I spoke to their reps at Henry show few years back and they're good people.

I've been pretty happy with the Konus Konuspot that I bought about 6 years ago, but if I was buying today I'd consider this system.

Pentax 80ED with 20-60x eye piece seems to be the benchmark spotting scope, even when comparing to Sworvski.
