I am considering which spootting scope to buy.
It will be used for target spooting use only so armouring is not necessary, nice but not needed.
What power is needed to resolve bullet holes, or the lack thereof, out to 1000 metres?
Also reccommendations as to brands are also welcome.
thanks

There isn't a spotting scope on the market that will allow you to see bullet holes at 1000 metres. Check out Kowa, Pentax, Zeiss, Swarovski, Leica and Nikon. Excpect to spend around a grand + for a good quality spotting scope.

i have a fair collection of scopes, Kowa, Leica, Celestron. Celestron has a 5 inch Schmidt called a C5 that can be used with interchangeable eye pieces, and with a very large HD tripod you might be able to see holes at 600. FS

I just picked up a Minox 62ED with a 21-42X LER eyepiece from Cameraland, one of CGNs sponsors. Have been extremely pleased with the scope, and dealing with Cameraland was great.

To resolve holes in paper at 1000, you could consider a wireless video spotting scope, Targetteck is a company that makes 'em........hate to admit it, but I have one on order, will review it when I recieve........
