spotting scope

I'm sure it will be fine...Celestron has a pretty good name.
For the last two years I've been using a cheapie Bushnell http://www.amazon.ca/Bushnell-787345-Degree-Collapsible-Spotting/dp/B0001GMIRG primarilly because it collapses small enough to easily stow in my range bag.
I've looked through some expensive Leica's and Swarovski's...yup, they're clearer and construction-wise there their not from the same planet.
But for rimfire use (I have a .22WMR that I shoot out to 150m with) the inexpensive spotting scopes work fine.
Save the money on the spotting scope and spend it on your rifle scope or ammo.

It depends on the model, but some of the super cheap scopes are so blurry and hazy, that they are useless beyond 100 yards, and if shooting at a black target at 50 yards, they may not be any more useful than your riflescope.
