At a typical match; if someone is laughing it's because someone else is telling jokes. Mind you, if you turn your windage knob the wrong direction and feel you have to confess that to the crowd you might see some "laughing with". Most people are too busy thinking about their own score, or treasured collection of V Bulls to care how someone else shoots.

Thanks for the info, however I have family in Saskatoon so would attempt to make it a trip to shoot and visit them.
Like you, I have a somewhat untested gun compared to years past, but I find competitions are still enjoyable because of the people, different locations to shoot, and learnt experiences or connections gained.
I will keep this in mind and see how things pan out. I'm not one to plan too far ahead.
Trying to. I load them up, but I blink and they're empty again. What's worse, I think someone is stealing my 300 grain SMKs. Its bad enough when they take them out of the box, but apparently they must take the ones out of my loaded ammo too unless they evaporated. That happens sometimes.

Just want to add this as I think it may get overlooked by some but will ABSOLUTELY be necessary for this shoot.
PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR!!! There will be debris getting tossed around by those shooting around you. Please protect your eyes as well as your ears!!

Boomer Shoot was fun. I apologize for showering my squad mates with debris!! Now you know why these things aren't allowed in match competition!!! lol
I think all the CGN guys that came also shot the morning short range Palma match. You guys have now shot the entire length of the normal competition distances. We do have further shooting points, they just are harder to use as clubhouse / camping area must be cleared out of people before use.
For first time competitors, you guys did well. I hope you see it as most of us do. That it is purely a match against yourself. Most of us are out there to simply shoot better than we did the last time we were out. If you happened to be top guy in your catagory and picked up a medal, good for you! Now the pressure is on yourself to do even better next time out! Two of us in FTR SharpShooter had some of our personal bests out there this weekend with new range records to go with them. My personal goal still eludes me even with ideal weather conditions!! Grrr
That said, I hope you guys had fun and maybe caught the long range bug as I did two years ago! All the regular shooters enjoyed having you guys out there and the welcome mat is out for you to come back again.
