Spraying brass with drawing fluid to keep it shiny?

Alright.

I display brass on my shelf next to the computer. I polished them using an eraser. The only problem is that when I touch the brass it leaves prints that eventually smudge the brass and leave it an awful dull brown.

I'm wondering if spraying it with drawing fluid - the type artists would use on finished charcoal and pencil drawings to prevent it from smudging. Do you think this would work?

Assuming it's collector ammo, use spray on clear lacquer.

Brasso

Get Brasso. Its a rub in polish meant for brass (hence the name). I've seen and used it on brass casing in the past. Suggest looking into using it. Very cheap and you can find it probably anywhere. Start at hardware stores.
