Many operations don't allow vehicle mounted hunts, baiting, or sometimes any vehicle use at all... I've seen leopard baited with "aged" baboon, but never lion, and never on the properties we worked with. With these operations you are on foot, stalking, tracking, glassing from koppes, etc.. You do have a couple PH's, scouts sometimes, and porters though. On some private reserves permits aren't required when the "stock" is owned, so the hunting seemed more based on what you found, rather than what you wanted. Exceptions for big 5/6 hunters with big wallets we frequent we heard though.
