spring bear hunt

Our biggest obstacle is the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH). Begrudgingly I have to admit that they have done some good work. But they are in bed with the liberals and can't get their act straight. They bicker with themselfs worse then 5 year olds.

Some light reading (especially the part "ugly")

I can't agree with that. The OFAH spent a lot of Dough fighting this in court. They did more than I thought they would. Looked for a long while like they would win. I blame they're loss on Liberal Judges, and government pressure. The OFAH had all their ducks in a row, but didn't know it was ina shooting gallery.

Most people don't know this but Safari Club International Anti'd up and gave OFAH $50000 to help fight the proposed closing of the spring bear hunt. Unfortunately it didn't help much at the time. But it may be time to jump start the movement again!!!!!!!

The cost of the non-resident tag itself isn't so bad, but paying for lodging and an outfitter puts the price beyond what most of us can afford. If I am going out of province to hunt, it will be for something I can't hunt at home, like elk or caribou.

maybe i should get a note from my doctor.... to say if im not granted some special kind of exemption....i,ll get a bad dose of hatesaliberel and i will not be responsible for my actions:evil:

can't afford their rates for non resident tags

The cost of a non resident, Canadian tag in Manitoba is $100.00. If you are a Canadian, but not a resident of Manitoba, then you can Hunt Black Bear in Manitoba without having to use a guide or go through an outfitter.

I don't suppose you guys have similar rates and rules for caribou?

Sorry. Caribou you have to go through an outfitter. Elk there is no tags available to non residents at all. Non residents can moose hunt in Manitoba, and in very limited area, they don't need to use a guide or outfitter. Deer and bear is wie ooen to non residents.

Why not aprotest hunt, like done in England?

Dress up in Orange, and go afield, en masse...Chase the Foxes- I mean bears...make some big noise.
