Spring Bear Spot and Stalk vs Baiting?

I'd love to spot & stalk hunt but the bush in Manitoba is so thick that the only way you'll see bears is over a bait site. I spent 10 months working around Terrace and saw lots of bears. One day I'd love to do a bear hunt in BC just to go spot and stalking.

Same here in N Alberta, no hope of a spot and stalk hunt.

I wanna do a spring bear just south of Riding Mountain National Park. Its crown, but I don't wanna bait. Going to try a spot and stalk. Hopefully I can find some open areas. Going to scout it as soon as it warms up.

Funny thing. Now, don't take this the wrong way, but there's something about baiting a bear that turns me off of it. That said, I'd bait a leopard. What's the diff? I dunno. But I'd rather spot and stalk.

I in no way mean to say that baiting is wrong or I am against it. Just a funny tic in my brain I guess.

I hunt in NB where spot and stalk is almost impossible. Now having said that i was taken to a spot a few years ago where we saw 11 bears in about 45 minutes just before dark. And I did spot a bear after an unsuccessful hunt right across the road from my grandparent's place. It was huge but car was packed with my parents and my wife, so I just looked at the huge bear eating strawberries and left for home, I was happy.

x2 Bush too thick here in N.Sask to have much success unless baiting

There is no baiting allowed in BC so I've never tried it, but I think I'm too impatient to do it anyways!!

Sitting for that long - no good for me.

Exactly, too many bears to be sat still all day!
