Took my oldest out today for bear and we had a great time. He and mamma were in on a bear last year, but he was only 1 1/2yrs old. Told him yesterday that we were headed out, and he was pumped still this morning. Anyhow, my brother in law joined us and off we went for the day with the carseat between us and enough kiddie snacks to feed an entire row at a Yankees game (he ate them all!).
Long story short, we poked our heads into one of my favorite areas, down a road that I'd seen plenty of sign over the years, but no large bears.
This guy was feeding 198 yds away, and had no clue. He sat down on his hauches and the 140gr TSX @ 3167 fps from my 280AI took care of the rest.
The boy was ecstatic, and rearing to find another "great big daddy bear"!
Looks like I won't have to look far for a bear hunting partner anyhow.... my most memorable hunt to date.... simply because he was there!
