Spring bear?

Been baiting for about 3 weeks now. Got a good boar coming as well as a couple smaller ones.

The pic of the bear sitting, is looking up at a beaver carcass.

Our baits are all getting hammered... but it is still early yet, so for those not seeing action as yet, give it another week and they should be rolling. It takes a while coming out of den before their digestive systems are ready to handle heavy feeding. Good luck.

I'm not heading out until May 19th to hunt. We baited 7 days ago and will be checking it this Wednesday, hopefully we have to re-bate it.

We set up earlier this year earlier then usual because of the weather, wonder if that was a mistake. Was hoping to start hunting this Friday but that might be wishful thinking.

We got an early start as well, since the ice was off early, but have no expectation that the bears will be feeding well then. They will nose and scratch around, but generally they don't get into full feeding mode at least until the end of April, early May.

I don't know why but it blows my mind that you can spot and stalk a bear. Great job everyone, however you make a kill!

Thanks everyone. He is definitely a pretty bear. Beautiful hide on him and at 6.5’ about as good as they come around here.
