Spring bear

I used to live near Fort St. John and took bears for granted. Never even shot a good one. Moved down south and now I work like hell to get a good one go figure. Good luck to you finding the moving " Black Stumps "

We can't hunt them in the spring here in Ontario because we love them and they are really cuddly and cute and are endangered and hurt no one.

But come the Fall we can kill the s**t outta those big mean dangerous man eaters !!!

Anyone as pumped as I for the upcoming spring season. Baits can be placed in a few days. Not much point with 3 feet of snow but get em out anyway to save your hotspot.

baiting in the snow is good

when the bears come out the bait will already be there, they won't wander off if they're local to your baiting area.

I used to freeze the last falls deer carcass scraps in onion bags and hang them early.as they thaw they start to smell just like the winter kill that nature provides to bears just out of their dens ;)

I miss spring bear hunting...maybe when this round of tricycle motors is gone I'll still have enough jam to go again...if I'm not to rickety to draw my bow :(

enjoy folks...it's a great time to be on the land!

WHAT??? No Spring bear season in Ontario???? WOW!! And you have to live there? WOW! Sonds like a LIEberal plot to me.:bsFlag:

Much as I hate to admit it, I'm pretty sure it was the bluest of the blue PC premiers that foisted this on us. Greenies were raising hell that people were shooting mommy bears and leaving the little itty babies to starve (even though it pretty well never happens). Mike Harris did pull a few major blunders much as I liked and miss the guy (BTW, the worst thing he did did was forced amalgamation of cities, but that's for another thread).
