Spring Black Bear Calgary Area

Ideally i would go north of my Edmonton with a buddy, but it doesn't look like our days off line up this year, so Im looking to stay somewhat close to home (Calgary) So the dreaded question, is anyone able to recommend any areas? I know its a long shot but i thought it was worth a try

Think the Calgary zoo has a couple and there's always Banff.

If you want to go spot and stalk the gravel back road to Kanaskis has lots of bears along it. Also, it is crown so you should be able to find spots to set up baits but there are a number of people baiting in the area already.

I have taken several down in the Porcupine hills in years past. My best was from the west side of Chain Lakes. The first time I went bear hunting down there I asked a friend where to find them and he drew me a map and there was a sow and two cubs right where he said I would see bears and later a big boar came out in the same place.

Problem being, about all of those are Grizzlies and last time I checked baiting wasnt allowed there.
