Yes they get shot from time to time. But regardless I give them a semi annual check, oil, & cleaning. Had the time, so it got done today. They get cleaned after range use, but its a safe way to make sure one doesn't get neglected....

Awesome group of stuff...I am jealous!!!!!
Thanks for sharing.
BTW...I got a Smith-Corona, which has changed hands between my dad and I about 5 times in the past 15 years. Sorry it is not for sale though.

11. 1906 R.I.A. Bayonet
12. 1906 S.A. Bayonet

Decided about 10 years ago that I wanted to collect a representation of 1903's from the decades. The Old Man (who was P.P.C.L.I out of Vancouver) use to tell me of some amazing accuracy these old girls use to get. He recalled of some Americans in Winnipeg training with or at the same time as him, making some real long shots. Distances I won't mention, as I don't want him or me to be called a B.S.'er.....;)

Sweet collection, nice and focused. I prefer a collection of one type of firearm over those who have a mix of this and that, I'm sure you're very knowledgeable on these rifles.

Far from an expert, but have a few very resourceful books from Brophy & his kind that make understanding parts and stampings a little easier. Accumulating literature on any type of gun collection is half the battle. 03's are not as common but I wouldn't say rare, nor as popular as others collected up here. Most were converted to hunters, so piecing together a specific one is sometimes the only option. I have the pieces to assemble an A1 (maybe not the correct rear sight?), so that will probably be the next project. It is similar to a 1903, but its main differences are the rear sight notch, as mentioned, a pistol 'c' type stock & no blood groove in the fore stock.
I have past up & sold a lot of other nice milsurps to stay focused on 03's. It's my blue collar collection. Not always museum quality, but good enough......
Have recently found a new passions for old cowboy sixgun's... The wifey's starting to wonder about me!:D
