Hey guys, so I started playing around with an old project. It’s a Winchester single shot break action 12 gauge. It was looking pretty grimy inside so I decided to strip it down to give it a good cleaning. I got it all apart but I don’t think I will be able to compress the 2 heavier springs to put it back together. From what I searched online it looks like a pair of modified channel locks is the tool to make? Is this the best way to go? Any other suggestions?

Or holding the action securily in a padded vise and someone to help you find the parts when you slip and it goes flying... eye protection and a sheet over you and the action maybe required.
I still remember strugglling with an old S x S 50 years ago.
