I bought a CS Springs kit from Brownells. Its made a big difference to the way the rifle behaves when being fired.
Before the new spring went in, the cases were sent forward and to the right - with the new spring the cases get sent to the right and behind me.
The cases now come out a lot cleaner, so I guess it is serving one of its purposes of delaying the bolt moving backward while the case is still expanding.

I just bought the brownells kit last night , for the price i couldnt argue with not buying it . Its also got good reviews from what ive read and it says fits all m14/m1a rifles . came with extra power recoil spring , hammer spring , extractor and ejector springs.
This is the kit I bought. It has an Operating Spring and Hammer Spring.

Hey just thought id update in this thread , my spring kit should be here anyday now and was wondering is it possible to change out the ejector and extractor springs without that bolt takedown tool ?
i dont mind it being a challenge but if its going to come flying out and stab me in the eye then ill wait.

A while ago someone posted how to make your own tool so I copied the idea. A .45 case is screwed to the jaw. I used the first small clamp I found, but would get a better quality one if I made another in the future.
Instead of making a new thread , i figured i would ask here again could someone please alleviate my ####ing frustrations and tell me wether or not the Wolff spring kit from brownells will fit in the norinco trigger group i dont know if im doing something wrong but its just 1mm out of alignment and im about to snapzors.
Oh i got it to go in and get together just fine , but when i push the trigger in with the new spring the trigger is all the way to the rear of the guard and the pin wont go in , its just a fraction of a mm off but im wondering if maybe the wolff spring kit is meant only for usgi or usa trigger assemblies .
God do i feel stupid , you know when you get really really aggravated and you miss things that are sometimes right in front of you , well after 6 hours of trying to condition my trigger and install a simple spring my fingers are more swollen than a 70 year old guy on a 2 week ###### binge and it all came down to me installing the hammer without making sure the trigger guard was in a reward position .
I have assembled and reassembled this trigger over 20 times and every time i missed it . lol ..
However i am rewarded with a super nice trigger and that glow of accomplishing something myself . i swear i could fart on this trigger and it would fire.

One more question for this post. Seeing as im ordering the Wolff kit, I thought I would buy the mag springs as well. They would be for polytech mags. Are they worth it or would you just stick to the basic mag springs?
