hey guys!, i own two ARs the first is a 10.5 cqa(norc) and i just bought a 20" cq311(norc), because off the NOISE that comes out of the 10.5 i never noticed the buffer spring sounds. with the 20" it is allmost distracting....is there a way to muffle it? better parts? or do all AR types sound like that? is the older design stock amplifiing it?

Twang Buster. I have a friend that put one in his Norc. Worked good.

Grease the spring, grease the ever living hell out of that spring… or, polish the spring or get a polished spring… or, that twang buster thing… really, it is just an annoying sound.

I have never heard this sound out of either of my AR's. I guess I'm just lucky, or you're all insane :runaway:

Lol... I think I noticed the spring action in my first AR the first little bit, but after a while it didn't bother me at all. I suppose it's a good thing though, if you hear something really weird going on, then you know there's something wrong.

Don’t ask how I know this, but if you clean all the grease off of your spring and don’t re-grease it properly… yeah… or if you have a relatively smooth or polished spring it won’t make the sound as much…

Get over it.
I can tell when I've got slide lock...time to change mags....when the 'sproing' changes.
Embrace the 'sproing'.
