We have a very nice 1873 Trapdoor here, but it has a bulge in the chamber and will not extract. To get the gun up and running we need to either replace the barrel or have it relined. We can't find a replacement barrel anywhere so relining might be the only solution. Any ideas who can do this?

You guys employ a gunsmith, do you not? He could just make a new one.

Why don't you folks just open up the chamber and silver solder a piece of barrel steel into it, then ream it to 45-70? Not difficult, almost impossible to see, if it's done carefully and maybe stronger than the original.

Your own smith could do it, as could Chris Weber
