Springfield 1903 Mark 1

Condition is everything. Watch out for a worn and pitted barrel. Most M1903s were re barreled at least once due to the effects of corrosive primed military ammo and poor cleaning techniques. That said, I do have an M1903 Mk1 with a pristine original barrel.
M1903 values are rising along with everything else. They may become even more attractive/expensive as they aren't on any current govt hit lists. One should figure on $1200 minimum for any Springfield in really nice shape. There was an 03A3 listed on the EE for $1850 a short time ago. I don't know what the actual selling price was.
The US Army disposed of the Pederson Devices between the wars and modified all the Mk1 rifles by swapping in regular M1903 components. As always, some managed to escape the process and one would pay a pretty penny for an original, unmodified Mk1. A modified Mk1 would have the value as a regular M1903, all things being equal. At some point I did pick up a distinctive Mk1 magazine cuttoff.
Pictures are always useful in establishing value. An unmodified MkI would be a very unusual find. The unique cuttoff can be ID'd without disassembly, but the other unique MkI parts (sear, trigger, cuttoff spindle, cuttoff plunger/spring and cuttoff screw) would require the rifle to be disassembled for a positive ID. The stock is also a bit different. What are the markings on the barrel behind the front sight and what are the stock markings, if present? Is it a straight grip stock?
Only markings I can see from pictures is RA-B and the P under the grip and yes it's a straight handle , the rifle should be showing up in the mail this week, I'll send you some detailed pictures just need to identify if I made the right choice on this rifle, or is it a bust lol, appreciate your time
Sounds like a nice Mark I, I’d love to see some photograph.
The Mark I rifle with Pedersen device cutout is hard to find, let alone with all original Pedersen parts, as a standard 03, even with the cutout, will not fit the device unless the proper sear is present.
A few 1903’s Mark I’s came from US Navy storage with the components still present, I’ve been searching for a long time.
Value, if nice and original with the sear and correct parts, $2000+ any day.
