Springfield 1911 RO 5" 9mm

Hard to find in stock, wanstalls would be a good option to order one in.
I picked up a loaded stainless target from wanstalls when i was hunting for similar, which is now discountinued for the RO.
Not sure why, more options and stainless is classy!

What i like about the plain RO, it's a plain gun (which leaves the option for me to install my favorite parts), with a nice slide sight cut.
I don't know why so many go Novak cut, maybe more carry friendly but for competing i love the bomar/Lpa cut guns.

Novak slide cut, no go!

I currently own an STI trojan in 40 for IPSC, wanted a 9mm for steel challenge/IPSC backup gun.
Did you see how much STI inflated like crazy?

Price inflation is the times, you wont find any old stock on the old price! Not a good time to invest. Can't say i've ever seen an RO up used, let alone many 9mm 1911 of ipsc quality.

I'm running lvl 3's this year for a first. Makes me think about picking up a backup gun now :0

I bought one from IRG back in December 2014. I haven't seen any available ever since.

My option #2 i am considering right now, pickup a new old stock trojan 40 (price is still pre inflation) and work up a minor load for steel challenge.
I have been wanting to play with a 9mm for a while now, but not for 2100$ with a plain gun

Chinese guy, yep thats the gun im looking for.
It's said to have a tight fit to be accurate and has a propper sight cut

Firing group can be SVed, grips and well could be techwell then RK gunsmith for a deep royal blue.
Edit im not suggesting you do this, its just my to do list with this type of gun
