Springfield / Stevens 87M .22lr semi
Looks like a M1 Garand trainer that never was .

Any info of age / general , would be appreciated.

That is beautiful. I'm in love I want it. How much would you like for it? Are there any more. How does it shoot. How much did it cost. It would make a fabulous addition to my collection of WWII guns in .22LR.

No , I'm not selling
This is the first and only 87M that I've seen , so I'm gonna have some fun with it .
It fits into my collection by being a little brother to my M1 Garand ...and a helluva lot cheaper to shoot .

Does it use stripper (charger) clips like an M1, some sort of box magazine or is it tube fed?

It's tube fed .
Same as the Stevens 87A , B , C ...

Whats the deal with the venting on the receiver?

Not sure , but all the Stevens 87 series has them.

Got 'er scoped

...added a Weaver J 2.5 scope and fabb'd the mount so it sits off to the left similar to how the M1 Garand is scoped and the original peep sights are still fully functional.
That ol' scope has seen better days and I'm looking for another J 2.5 to take it's place.
