I ordered a SA muzzle brake and castle nut. The SA castle nut has the same threads as the Norinco. Slightly different knurling pattern on the outside, but threat pitch is the same.

No it doesn't, the Norinco is metric, and the SA is imperial, you will screw up the threads on the barrel, and then you're pooched

Now....getting the old Norc brake OFF......that's another story....mine was tack welded on from factory.

Tried the castle nut again after reading your post. Both my chinese caslte nut, and the SA castle nut both thread on the barrel exactly the same with no resistance. 50Calshooter had the same experience with his SA castle nut as described on this thread:
