Good day, has anyone had any experience with this rifle. I seen one at the Prince George gun show today, and damn it felt good in my hands. I was told this rifle is restricted, is that true. If so, why? With full stock and 16" barrel, it definetly isn't total length so..... Any help would be appreciated. I see this as a great all around rifle.
 
For a centre fire, semi-auto rifle, the minimum non-restricted barrel length is 18.5" ... unfortunately. Overall length does not come into play with this type of firearm.
 
For the price of the SOCOM 16 you could have this non-restricted Norinco SOCOM with 18.5" barrel built... As it sits.:D

That figures, I really liked that rifle. It balanced well, and felt very solid. It would be a good balance of rifle to do anything from sport shooting to hunting.
